What we collect, and why.
Staple is a small company in British Columbia, Canada. This page explains what we collect on eatstaple.com, what we do with it, who handles it, and the choices you have. Plain language, no surprises.

What we collect
- Your email, when you join the wait list.
- Your survey answers, if you take the one-minute survey: your training routine, how often you eat rice, how interested you are, your reasons, and what you would pay for a pouch.
- Which ad or link brought you here. Our ad links carry tags that name the campaign and the ad. We save those tags with your sign-up.
- Ad measurement data through the Meta Pixel. Meta's pixel records that your browser visited this site, which pages you saw, your browser type, your IP address, a cookie ID, and whether you joined the wait list. We turned off Meta's automatic collection of button clicks, and we do not send Meta your email.
Why we collect it
- To email you launch news, honest development updates, and your founder discount code.
- To plan the first batch. Your survey answers decide what we make first.
- To see which ads bring people who actually sign up, so we spend our small budget on the ads that work.
- To show our ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who visited but did not sign up, and to people similar to those who did.
Who handles it
We use a few services to run this site. Each one gets only what it needs for the job in the table. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else.
| Service | What it does for us | What it holds |
|---|---|---|
| Kit | Sends our emails and keeps the wait list | Email, sign-up date, survey answers, ad tags |
| Google Sheets | Our working copy for planning the first batch | Same as Kit |
| Vercel | Hosts this website | Standard server logs, including IP addresses |
| Meta (Facebook and Instagram) | Measures our ads and builds ad audiences | Pixel data described above |
These companies store data in Canada and the United States, so your information may be kept outside the country you live in.
How long we keep it
- Wait-list emails and survey answers: until two years after launch, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first.
- Ad tags saved with your sign-up: same as above.
- Meta Pixel data: Meta keeps it under its own rules. Ad audiences built from site visits expire after at most 180 days.
- Server logs: a few weeks, for security and debugging.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe any time with the link at the bottom of every email we send.
- Opt out of the Meta Pixel with the "Opt out" link in the footer of every page. The choice is saved in your browser, so the pixel does not load again on that browser. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as an opt-out too. You can also limit how Meta uses your activity in your Facebook ad settings.
- See, fix or delete what we hold about you. Email us and we will act within 30 days.

Changes
If we change what we collect or why, we update this page and the date at the top. For big changes we also email the wait list.
